Humor used at the right moment in the sales process will help any sales pro and his/her team achieve better results. Think of your sales cycle and how the right joke can help you move through the sales process.
I know this because I've been a sales pro for nearly all of my professional life. I've knocked on doors, made cold calls, and deliver many proposal presentations. I've been a sales rep, a sales engineer, and a sales manager. I've also been doing Stand-up Comedy since 2014. Iv'e seen how combining the two will kick every sales pro up a notch.
Consider parts of a typical sales process:
Prospecting: This, quite frankly, is where most sales reps fall short in their efforts. I mean, if they're not filling the top of the funnel, it hurts every other phase, right? A little bit of humor can break the obvious tension of a cold call, a door knock, even in an introductory email or letter.
The Discovery Meeting (and Demo): The key to getting the prospect to share what you need to put together a good proposal is trust, which is built by demonstrating expertise, caring, and creating a rapport. What better way to do that than through a well-time, well-crafted joke?
The Proposal Presentation and The Big Close: Everybody loves cracking jokes during the proposal presentation. That's natural. The key is to tell the right joke -- one that hammers home a key point. Then, when it's time to close the deal, remove the normal tension of that moment with a bit of humor
In this workshop, your team will learn:
How to write and perform a joke
What makes people laugh (the science behind stand-up)
How to break tension with humor
How to read and OWN a room
A bunch of science and history behind comedy
Your sales team will learn the ins and outs of Stand-up comedy, including how to write and perform their own jokes.
